when you see a bird you can't identify? Here in central Florida I don't see a lot of song birds. A few mockingbirds, cardinals and the occasional blue jay. Well this morning we had a whole flock of starling sized birds land in my backyard. Very unusual!! They did have some starling marks on them but, after years of living in Massachusetts, I think I'd know a starling when I see one. These weren't them. Add on to that it was a gray rainy day here so the light was bad.

I'm not looking for an answer to what they were, just ranting about seeing something unique and not knowing what I really saw. |^|

I have been succesfully digiscoping with my zeiss 85T x20-60 + coolpix 5100. For that I used this adaptor:

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm205/Ori76/2.jpg
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm205/Ori76/3.jpg

Now I am planing to do the same buy with the Oly E-30. From the three different methods of conecting it to my zeiss I think I will opt for the Zeiss 85T + x20-60 ocular + Oly E-30 + Zuiko 14-54. If this lense is no good for digiscoping any other recommended lens will be nice. Any comments about the other conecting methods will be wellcome (Direct conection of camera body to telescope without okular....)

What short of adapter do I need for the set mentioned above?. When I purchased my actual adaptor I was told that the adaptor was able to work with DSLRs but now the store is closed. At least I need some short of ring to conect the Zuiko (67mm) with my adaptor (58 mm more or less)

Thanks and I hope I do have explained myshelf properly

I have just been looking through the BOU List to update my Collins guide with the new scientific names for some species. Whilst going through the list, I noted that American Little Tern or Least Tern - Sterna antillarum but now Sternula antillarum was not on the list. Just in case it was out of order somewhere, I did a 'find on this page' for all sorts of possibilities and did not find. The Collins guide suggests that a bird was present in the years 1983 to 1992 and these sightings may have been the same bird over several years. Presumably it was not accepted or is it an error that it is not in the list? Can anyone enlighten me or have I missed something?

Who knows, maybe they'll replant the huge tourist attraction that isn't the iron age mound which was cleared a few years ago for the masses to behold....and of course, let's just hope they open it before 9am!! ;)
