Writing from Guantanamo Bay in re: to two sick birds...
Hello all.
I am currently stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and recently had an American Bittern land on our roof, stay there for a few days, and eventually become extremely lethargic and die. Today I found a small egret on the side of the road and picked it up. It was too weak to even try and struggle and I doubt it will make it through the night. My question is this: it seemed odd to me to have found two birds of different species dying of what seems to be the exact same illness in the exact same location, not even a week apart. Should I be concerned about this? Also, does any one have any advice for maybe helping the little egret along if it does survive the evening? I've only raised pigeons. Thank you in advance for any information. MASN COUICK USN |
