Having a day out there sometime this week,does anyone know if the eagle owls that bred this summer are still about,if not what other raptors might I be expected to see.Thanks

hen harriers, kestrels, peregrines, merlin, short eared owls, tawny owls, long eared owls? , little owls, both sparow hawks and goshawks in woods and not to forget the buzzard!
not sure where the eagle owls wil be but they bred at whitendale -.

Dont expect to see them all by any means - you are viewing larg etracts and it can appear birdless. The walk from Dunsop Bridge is where the Eagle Owls were (around post 48/49 I think) but they have dispersed I believe.
Th Hen Harriers may be seen from around that spot looking over the top of the ridge. Buzzards and kestrel should be easy and keep ya eye peeled for Goshawk and Peregrine, and even Osprey along the way over suitable habitat.

Langham Valley is another great walk if the weather is nice - Hen Harrier, merlin etc but as with Dunsop Bridge get ay walking boots on!
