Firmware update out today
http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/eos40d/eos40d-firmware-e.html
Firmware specification changes
This firmware update (Version 1.0.5) incorporates the following improvements and fixes.
When playing back images just after recovering from Auto Power Off, the display now shows the last image played back.
During remote shooting, images are now displayed on the camera's LCD monitor right after they are taken.
Corrects a warning message in Korean that appears when updating the firmware.
Corrects errors in the Spanish menu screens.
Corrects a phenomenon that prevented printing with some print systems.
Corrects a rare phenomenon in which file numbers or image numbers were sometimes skipped.
Corrects a rare phenomenon in which centre focus point does not work perfectly with a pin-taped converter on a EF 400mm f/5.6.... I was waiting for something like this, not for a warning message in Korean .... :-C

Doesn't seem anything on this new firmware which is worth upgrading for. Does anyone no also whether Raw Files will open in Photoshop Elements 6.0

I'd also like to know the answer to this. I used to use Adobe Camera Raw with cs2 before I upgraded from 400D to 40D but can't any longer. I can't afford cs3 so am thinking about Elements 6.

For information, Elements 6 won't work with the latest Mac OS-X 10.5.1 (Leopard), neither will CS2. I have had to upgrade from Photoshop 7 to CS3 extended.

Yes it will - Adobe Camera RAW supports the 40D RAW format and works with Elements 5 and 6.
