Wheatfen Norfolk

There was to be a winter tree walk today but due to the rain it was called off. As I was already there I elected to walk the lane to the south west of Surlingham Wood.

Fungi recorded were:
Stropharia aeruginosa, Lepiota cristata, Xylaria hypoxylon & Clitocybe nebularis.

Also a tar spot on Nettles I am not familiar with.

We visited Wheatfen in July - what a wonderful place. The warden was really helpful and friendly, too. He recommended January as the best month for a visit!
