I don't think that you need to buy any kit. Just switch the camera options to shoot RAW, make sure that you are using the manual modes for picture taking, and away you go! You will need to install the "Canon Digital Photo Professional" software that came with your camera, but there is nothing you need to buy.

Indeed you can just get straight on with shooting RAW with your existing gear, but be warned it does get through memory a lot faster than jpeg so you wight need an extra card. Using Digital Photo Professional (DPP) you'll be able to view your RAW images and make adjustment to levels, alter white balance and picture styles and the likes. You can then convert the RAW files to jpegs or tiffs and do any further editing required for web use of printing. Good luck with your first vernture into the world of RAW, I'm sure you'll love it.

IfI were you. I would set the camera to the RAW/JPEG setting, so that you get the shot in both. Then if you have difficulty, or haven't the time with processing the RAW images, you will always have the JPEG as a backup. I do this, Keeping all my JPEG images, and just keeping those RAW images which I really want, and wish to process to get the best out of them. I find most of my JPEG images are perfectly satisfactory and need no further processing.
