Hi folks i have finally got set up with nikon P5100 and a Swarovski At80Hd , i have made an adapter that seems to work. Today was my first time ever doing this and i have quickly come to the realisation that i have no idea what the camera should be set to. I am new to photography so all the settings are a mystery to me.
So if any you can lend a hand i would be grateful

ok , i'll try this again . i really need to go on some photo editing and attachment competence course. Have the right software means nothing if you can't use it.
This is one of eight finches that have adopted my birdfeeder this week, i took the shot through the window.

Considering it was through the window glass not bad either.
Funny you should say about the Goldfinches adopting your feeder.
We had 3 goldfinch on ours for the first time in years, a couple of days ago. They have not been back, but hopefully they will remember where we are, and return another time.

Digiscoping and photo software is indeed an art, take your time and have patience, it will be very rewarding. You have the right gear for the job.
Any questions, or any more pictures to let us know how you are getting on, post for us to see.

I have only been digiscoping for just over a year, but photography was on of my hobbies.
My weakness is some of the bird identification. Wish I had more time, but still working.

If you haven't seen my webpages before, have a look, lots of digiscoped pictures on there, taken with P5000, P5100 and Fuji F30. Link here

You'll have to get the windows cleaned :-O:-O Looks OK to me I've found it really easy to use the P5100 infact even my wife managed to take photo's at here works xmas do and she was ... er ... merry shall we say B (:B (:

As to Goldfinches I get through about 10kg of sunflower hearts a week with the Greenfinches and Goldfinches ... it was much cheaper when nothing used the feeders before they were moved:-O:-O
