Hi All long time no post,
Well i have moved up now from the FZ20 and got a second user D50.
Sorry if these questions have been posted before but im not getting much up on forum search.
I have The Kit 18-55 and the 50-200 also jesops 2x convertor.
This came with a grip and bag and batterys so not too cheap.
Lense recommends and tips greatly appreciated.
Even if some lense costs may well have to wait a while.
Thank you all for your time and all the best,
James

James,
what is your budget and what do you want the lens for. If birding is your aim, it may be helpful to state if you want a lens that is Hand Held or for tripod use.

Thanks for reply Dave,
Budget will not go to thousands but a few hundred can be managed upto £300 possibly more as its as much to know what is recommended and can aspire to search second user items etc.
The two Main lenses i will want to add are a bigger reach for bird shots and more flighty wildlife that you canot get so close to.
In photography generally a wide angle would be nice as i love the outdours and like walking etc.
I tried to add to the thread title but canot remember or seam to add that now im also intrested in views on adding the Nikon dslr scope attachement and a Nikon ED 82 scope.
Anyone know where i can see results of pics taken on the scope Please???
I do not have the scope bye the way but its high on future purchase i think since i want a large scope and as such have more use for the scope.
Thank you all and all the best,
james

Oh Yeah Hand held would be good but not top priority as this is a big issue im sure at big mags i can carry tripod and thinking about a good monopod as can be used as a stick when walking so not such a hindrance!

Hello Mr Death, may I first say that you are doing a wonderful job down here and that it cannot be easy carrying that big scythe around all day! Also, that black hooded cape does suit you. Anyway, I am also a Nikon D50 owner (2nd year now) and have had some great times with it (you have chosen wisely, and I won't ask what happened to it's previous owner......mum's the word)

If it,s a decent birding lens your after then may I suggest that you visit the following site for some reliable reviews and futher information regarding aiding your quest......Just Google 'Photozone' and go to reviews where a long list of both Nikon and third party lenses are available for your perusal.

Now that Iv'e scratched your back (so to speak).........could you let me have a few more years down here to hone my photography skills (I'm having a real blast!)

Thank you for your input Mr Latham,
I Had considered extending your stay on this mudball before reading request and feel that as you have the audacity to ask for an extension i shal grant another year.

Looking at your life glass in my vaults you seam to have a fair few remaining but there are rogue variables out there even beyond my control.

Yours Final visitor,

Hi with a Budget of £300.00p I would consider a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 lens, try the well known auction site! Also consider buying a teleconvertor 1.4 o 2x. This should give you a good start at reasonable cost.

For a circa £300 budget your options are limited. An old 300mm F4 eg. ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280189097013&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018) plus a Kenko Pro 1.4 Teleconverter for circa £50 again via the usual Hong Kong suppliers on ebay is an excellent option. A £10 remote control is also a useful investment particulary if you ever want to use a bean bag or tripod.

Thanks for the input,
Im thinking in the region of 300mm then kenko 1.4 t-con seams to be the recommended order, i have a remote that came still sealed with the camera.
Budget can extend im patient and can wait i need to get practice with what i have i supose since i have just got it.
All input Greatly appreciated.
