This year I will be concentrating on improving my Surrey list. Beddington Farm is my local patch this site produced 143 species last year. I saw 122 of these species. I also hope to improve my county knowledge visiting sites I have not visited in the past.

088 Iceland Gull (Larus glaucoides)

I initially went looking for the White Fronted Goose at Mercers Farm without success. The morning was saved by a text from Johnny Allan stating an adult Iceland Gull had been found on the lake. The bird was re found on the refuse tip and photographed. This was my first adult bird and only my second Iceland Gull.

I hope to post some pics onto this thread when I have sorted out my WI FI transfer to my lap top.

1M Ruddy Duck and 1 Common tern started the day off...

Fulmar flew South over lake at 0905hrs. This is the second record for the Farm.

29 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin and 1 Redshank were seen on the Lagoons. 1F Greenland Wheatear also present. 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Peregrine, 1 Hobby, 2 Shelduck other notable sightings.

2 Raven on pylons in front of main lake. Birds mobbed by Crows. Crow is ready to pounce in pic! (see Lists Surrey VC )Then flight W returning Mitcham Golf course side of farm then lost to view. Had not been seen in last 45mins. 5 observers including a very relieved sprinting John Allan!
