I stupidly left my 350d spare battery in my pocket and it went into the wash.
It appears ok.
If I wait until it is thoroughly dry and try it in the camera is it likely to damage the camera?

I accidentally dropped my mobile into a lake when I was fishing. Everything froze up and the battery discharged instantly.

I dried it out, recharged it and it worked fine, but the battery never held its charge anything like as well as it did before its brief dip.

I can't see why it would do any harm, but given that you can buy two spares for ~£10 from 7dayshop I'm not sure I'd take the risk. http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_3&products_id=101270

I hadn`t thought of 7day although I use them for flash cards etc.
I think I will buy new just to be on the safe side.
Thanks

If something does short then your 350D won't know what hit it - if it were me it would be disposed of and a replacement ordered.

Have used 7Day a lot and they give a super service and are well cheap.

One thing to remember about 7day shop is that their batteries seem slighty longer than std AA's (1-2mm).
