Hi all,
Got a very nice surprise wheni went to collect my Photography mag today, I'd won "Star Letter" in Digital Photo Magazine for a letter i sent last yearB (:
The prize is a 8.1mp Panasonic Lumix Compact it even has image stabilising:eek!: not bad for a daft letter about my missus?
I have been looking at compacts for a while to replace my old Fuji so no more searching:t:
It just shows its worth it to enter competitions etc in the magazines, in the past i have won quite a few ranging from a Signed Carl Fogerty jacket to a coffee making machine (which was 2nd prize in a Biker magazine too, very strange prize)?
Ps if you have the magazine i am talking about, don't worry i haven't taken up knitting, Flower arranging is much more enjoyable;):-O
Cheers
Brian

Congrats.

You've won a lot more that I ever have. I never win anything at all, despite entering every comp. going. :(

Just been wondering has anyone used one of these cameras for digiscoping? just a thought as i have a scope stashed away in the car, maybe the image stabiliser would be useful?
Cheerio

I've not used the camera myself, but looking at the spec I am sure it would be fine for digiscoping. I'm not sure how much use the OS system would be, it was fairly useless on a Panasonic compact that I had, but perhaps things have improved.

It got the highest ever rating of the compacts (91% Gold Award) in Febuary's edition of 'What Camera' magazine. Those kind of prizes are worth having!! Congrats.
