I haven't seen any yet used for birding. Why paying for a rangefinder? On the other hand they must be the favourites in the battle field for aiming. In the Afghan war against the Taliban goverment there were exotic TV images where local troops were embebed with western militarymen. Only these last had power to ask for air support. As Americans as British were shown with geovids.
One time Leica manufacture lenses of 56 milimeters for the geovids, I don't why they aren't offered in the ultravid series.
