Baer's:bears,Bars,Bayers or?

I was fortunate to find a Baer's Pochard in China but less fortunate trying to find the correct pronunciation.

Please end my torment,please.

I've always gone for 'bayers' myself, but that's just me..!

I'd guess it's named after a German guy called Bär (also written as Baer), so then the pronunciation should be a monosyllabic Bayr (with an ay more or less as in way and an rp-English r). I'm not sure anyone would say it that way though!

"Bear's" for me as this is the closest in ordinary English to the German "Bär".
Or "Siberian" (White-eye) to be safe.
