Hi all.

I have been given the above lens by a friend whom had long since sold all but this item of his Nikon gear. He now uses Cannon.

I have given it a good external clean and save a small speck of dust internally and a dry feel to the focus all else seems fine.

Is it at all possible to make my D80 meter with this lens fitted? I am no expert so will find it difficult to use otherwise!

Also, does anybody have an assembly diagram as I would like to lubricate the focus if possible?

Thanks for any help!!

Steve

The man in the following link offers a matrix chip upgrade for several Nikon AIS lenses, so the lens will meter with your camera:

True but there have been a few horror stories. I sent the mount of my 200mm F4 AIS micro to be done, and he did a nice job. I think most people are happy, but one or two have had cause to complain. A search on his name should give a good summary of user experiences.

Anyway, these days I don't think you really need a chip. Just my opinion.

If that's Rolland Elliot, be really careful. There are plenty of horror stories about people not getting their lenses back and no refunds. Just google his name and then be careful. I think if you just send the mount, you'd be safer because you can always order a new mount from Nikon.

Thanks for the eye's up.

I am very interested in this but will take the advice and check.

Thanks again.
