I forgot what model it is but it's one of the Nikon binoculars in Walmart listed for about $109 USD.
10x50. The thing is huge. Eye relief is non-existent. You can only view it with eyeglasses off. IPD is ridiculous and cannot get small enough for me. They were surprisingly easy to hold steady. Resolution was OK. The thing that annoyed me most was small "sweet spot", much smaller than I've seen in any Alpha bino.

Well the Nikon Action 10x50 DOES have very short eye relief, 9mm, BUT the IPD range is quite wide, at 56-73, able to accomodate most young children. It's not a bad binocular. Indded, it has quite a small aberration free area. Price of the 10x50 is $83.

Wow, the young children you know must look quite a bit different from the ones I know. I consider 56 mm to be an unexceptional minimum interpupillary and inadequate for the vast majority of "young children."

It *is* inadequate. I could hardly get it small enough to use.

In a recent class of 4th and 5th grade boys and girls, 3 out of 14 could not use 56mm binoculars. They needed smaller. In the previous two classes only 1 or 2 needed smaller. So out of about 50 4th and 5th grade children, only about 5 needed smaller than 56mm. However, nearly every one needed smaller than 60mm.
