OK, I sold my AFS 300mm F4 in favor of the less pricey older 300mm F4. I have the 1.4x kenko pro 300 TC for this new set up, AF works great, obviously not as fast focusing as the AFS set up (which worked beautifully with the nikon AFS-TC 14eII). Also, any optical advantage to the Nikon 14b vs the kenko 300 pro?

But, now I'm looking for a 2x TC for my 300mm F4. Is it worth it? I have been checking out the nikon 301 2x (does it fit?) and the kenko MC-7 2x.
Or any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Ted

The quality of the 2x is not up to it and will not AF well , if at all on the old 300/f4.

Perhaps you should try stacking another 1.4 kenko and see what the result is like. It works well on my canon 300 F4 attatched to my 30D.
