lens trouble?....

just tried out today my 70-200 2.8 lens on new D300, and meter tells me that the aperture is 3.5 and not 2.8, tried 300mm 2.8 and thats allright. any ideas whats causing this to happen....

Try cleaning the contacts on the lens and camera carefully with a contact cleaning solution.

still does the same , tried on D70 ok.but not on D300?...

Hi Mark,
Just try mine for you on my D300 body; I set the camera to A,S and P and it reads f2.8.
Sorry I can't think of any suggestions to help you.

Try an email to Nikon, see if they can suggest anything. They are extremely fast in replying.
