I presume you have seen the King Eider, the Cattle Egrets and the Great Grey Shrike. Roger

A very nice Long eared Owl which was showing well on the Tarka trail near Barnstaple all week. Also on the Taw estuary this week was Spoonbill, Goosander, Godwits and Merganser.

Edit: Where are you seeing the Barn Owl?

As well as Spoonbill.
There's plenty of stuff been around in North Devon mate.

I'd gladly swap North Staffs for North Devon any day of the year!!

If you're fed up of Barn Owls, could you send them down my way? ;)

Slightly more seriously, you've got Taw-Torridge, Tamar Lakes, Roadford, Hartland, north Dartmoor, the Tarka Trail, and Exmoor, let alone Lundy, and you're reasonably close to the Somerset Levels, Bridgwater Bay, Chew Valley Lake et al... Great stuff!

Hi Azn,
At Fremington Quay this pm there were 16 little egrets-common now, I know, but a beautiful sight.
Happy birding!
