I managed to catch up with the Baltimore Oriole yesterday (18th december 2003) The bird was quite frustrating in that it spent a good deal of time visiting feeders and apple trees in gardens other than the usual site. It did show well enough for some images just after lunchtime, thank goodness!

Excellent shots Nigel. I'm hoping that it is still there on Saturday as I will go after it if it is. Hopefully it will be co-operative and allow me to take a photo also.

Hi Nigel,
Very envious at this time! I live fairly local to this and have had commitments that have meant not been able to get there.
Hopefully get there later today.
Congratulations on photo's fantastic shots.

The current message re this bird..........
"1st-winter male still in Headington in a back garden on Northfield Road; there is access to the back garden for a small donation to a cat charity! "
............What a dilema!

Depends on the cat charity!
If it is one like America's 'Cats Indoors' which promotes keeping cats inside for their health and welfare, excellent!

Beautiful pictures of what I think is one of 'our' most beautiful birds. I see them only in summer, so this is a real treat.
