Canon 300mm f2.8 ((.))

I bought the lens (second hand) some time ago and today I noticed a little switch between the focus preset and focus speed. There is a sign ((.)) The point is in the middle. Like dolby surround sign. |=)| I have no manual to the lens and have no idea what that swich is. What about you?

Please let me know if it´s familiar.

Its an audible confirmation of recall of focus preset. (Whatever that is!)

you can program the lens to instantley return to a near or far focus preeset i.e lets say football useing the lens normaly then the ball goes down to the other goal post's - Players in the way so you carnt focus by setting it to the goal post you just press a button and it goes to the preesetand you take the shot :)

Thanks, Gordon and Rob. I can use the focus preset (Goldcrests - Cranes 6-3 ;) ) but I don´t need an audible confirmation of it so I´ll forget it.. |=)|
