I added one new species to my BIGBY list today... Bell's Vireo! Thus completing the set of all vireos that breed in/migrate through Arkansas: Yellow-throated, Blue-headed, Philadelphia, Red-eyed, White-eyed, Warbling, and now Bell's!

I heard this guy during a 10-mile run this morning that took me through the Razorback Golfcourse area. This was my turnaround point and by then I was feeling hot, dehydrated, and really wishing I had eaten breakfast (ahhh, I know better than that!). But hearing this Bell's Vireo lifted my spirits. I took a break in the shade to admire the breeze rippling through the grass and listen to the open-country birds: Dickcissel, Eastern Meadowlark, Blue Grosbeak... still no roadrunner, but they're around, I'll get one on my list someday...

Here's the list for the morning, which includes the above area as well as some woodsy neighborhoods.

Nice list of Vireos! I have have for my Bigby list all the regularly occurring Vireos (Blue-headed, Yellow-throated, Warbling, and Red-eyed) except Philadelphia, which I hope to get this fall.
