This morning i put up a wall mounted bird table which i made, sprinkled it with seed and also attached some seed balls.i have only recently started watching birds more closely.last year my garden was awash with birds with no real effort{just a small feeder} but as of yet have seen none this year.am i being impatient or is there more i can do to attract birds into my garden?

Hi Mark,
Welcome to BirdForum!
Whether birds come or not depends on lots of things - the most important is how much natural food there is around. If there's lots of food to be had in local woods and parks, they'll mostly stay there, and not come to your table until the natural food is running low. As it has been by & large a pretty mild winter so far in Britain, there's probably still lots of natural food to be had.

Hello michael,
thanks for that,so would you agree that it would be better to get myself out in the field than to sit expectantly looking out my window?

Hi Mark,
Yep! Out into the field, and the woods, and the lakes, and the coast . . . :bounce:
