Hello to all. I look forward to spending some time on this great site learning how to identify the birds that I love to photograph, watch and hear. I have a few books and have attended a couple of Birding 101 classes, but I have a lot to learn.
From browsing around on the site, it would appear that I have a lot to learn about photographing birds too. I have seen some incredible photos here.
As is probably true for most folks, the reason I looked for a "birding" forum is because I took a few photos of a bird that I can't identify. As soon as I figure out how, I will post a thread with one or two in hopes of putting this mystery to rest.
Until then, I will keep browsing and enjoying all of the wonderful threads that I need to catch up on.
Kind regards,
Pat E

Hello Pat and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:
Our Bird Identification sub-forum is pretty spectacular in that you don't have to wait long for someone to come along and tell you what your mystery bird is ;)

I am planning a first time trip to Weslaco to bird. I am looking for someone who could share some info on where to go if you only have 2 days. If you know of someone who would like to take two enthusiastic lady birders on a day of birding please let me know. Kathy

Hello and welcome, Pat.
If you've been to Birding classes you probably know more than a lot of new birders.
If you start taking photographs of birds you will find you just learn by experience as you go. I hadn't touched a camera in about 30 years until I took up birding last year.

Many thanks for the welcome Mark, AlanR and Alan. I have really enjoyed my time spent here and am soaking in all the incredible info. Wish I had found this place a long time ago!
Kathyb - Hi from a newbie. You might get more help if you start a new thread. I'm not much help since I don't even know where Weslaco is. But, I will bet someone on this board knows.
