I found this pigeon a month ago unable to fly. Someting had pulled out all of its tail feathers. The feathers are growing back quite rapidly. I'd planned on releading the bird once it could fly, but would like to be sure it was a wild bird, not a pet that had escaped. Can anyonemidenify the type od pigeon from these photos?

Hello and welcome.
It looks like a feral Pigeon (Columba livia) to me but I leave it to some US experts.

Hello People...
From Oxfordshire UK - where even the birds sing with a BBC accent and, hooray, the Red Kite is becoming more common than the Buzzard.
Happy Birding!
