hello everyone, very new here lookn for help from the experts!! I have to start by saying until today i didnt like birds (they kinda freaked me out actually) BUT i am now reformed. I am caring for a little black bird?? that was doomed for death (we're talking no feathers well maybe 3) and was lying on a sidewalk in 90 degree weather. My fiancee being the big hearted man he is gave him to me to take care of (ok another disclaimer there were no immediate birdie family members anywhere close for quite some time he was all for leaving the little guy there for his family) anyway... I have managed to keep him alive feeding him (ok dont yell if i screwed up i was at work next to a 7-11 and couldnt dig up anything natural at the doctors office) so I gave him tiny bits of strawberry and dog food (which he seemed to like) until i got home and went to the pet store to get baby bird formula and meal worms. I am feeding him about every 20 minutes or so depending on his little peeping and he seems relatively happy, anything else i should be doing?? any help would be appreciated. luckily i have a coworker who has rehab'd several babies recently and returned them successfully to the wild (unfortunately she says she requires feathers before she will take them) so we are working hard on getting to that point, i am afraid though, I may just have to see him through until he is all grown up and flies away. ps i know i am not supposed to name him but...(i have 4 kids and welll...) the name is sasquach he has REALLY BIG FEET. any advice would be greatly appreciated

well we made it through the night!! whew whoooooo! Now we will either find sasquach a professional or keep at this as long as we can if noone can be found. thanks for the help . I have to say though...someone finding and caring for a little bird, a bird that any farmer would try to "control" and most people would let die...really should not be against the law (understand that it must be "for the birds protection") but shouldnt there be like a birdie good samaritan law??
