I'm not sure I wanted to read this story as it maybe should have been kept quiet but the golden eagle near peebles in Scotland has found a new female and they have a chick in a nest. His previous female had been poisoned.

This is the story. Lets hope this new pairing isn't poisoned again.

I had hoped this was news from the Lake District, it's still very good news though.

It is a nice example of the bittersweet isn't it? On the one hand, it is a scandal that the original partner was poisoned but it is also good news that there are still enough golden eagles around in Scotland to provide new partners.
