Marbury Country Park is just down the road and an excellent site. You can then move onto the Flashes near Northwich.

Thanks everyone!
I nipped to Rostherne tonight for 5mins and saw great crested grebe(about 15!), tufted duck, mallard, oystercatcher, mute swans and female mandarins (I think).
I went along the footpath but you don't get the best view from along there as its quite far from the water. Is there any other spots with a better view?
I know you can join CAWOS and get a pass for the hide, would this be a
worthwile investment?
I'm going to try all these different spots on days aswell! :t:
Thanks :eat:

Hi again pgwp,
It's always worth joining the local society - many other county societies do reciprocal discounts to members. Rostherne permits can be obtained on their own - but better to get them together. If you go to the observatory at Rostherne the members will welcome you & let you have a look for a first time freebie. In answer to your question - no there are no decent views to be had around the mere's perimeter.
I've PM.ed you.

Edit - I've not PM.ed you as you won't allow it.
If you want to PM. me re the local area by all means do.
