Another Barn Owl shot taken at night with flash, I am usually out 2/3 nights a week working on Owls, and the chances of photography take some patience and perseverance, again it payed off well.
This was using the car as a hide, as usual it is the result of many weeks of watching where the Owl likes to hunt and where its favoured perches are, then just puting in the time to be set up in the right place for the moment to occur. It is in an area on the edge of town that has some artificial lighting, but I did use a lamp to aid (manual) focusing. 1/200th sec at f11, auto ttl flash
An Old thread that I had not replied to for some reason

An Old thread that I had not replied to for some reason, But thanks to those who made nice comments, in the case of the flight shots, just using natural cover, staying still and blending in by wearing drad clothing is all thats needed, of course prior observation of the birds habits are necessary, it will take days of frequent visits to get the opportunties to happen. I made little squeaky pishing noises to get the birds attention when it came near, it is possible to 'call' Barn Owls in by doing this.
