What's about in the North Sea right now ?
Was up at Horsey dunes for a short while yesterday (north of Gt Yarmouth but not as far north as Cromer) & saw 4 or 5 birders scoping out to sea. All clearly seperate individuals & well spaced out, that being the main reason I didn't go & ask any of them .... but what's out there right now ?
Only had my bin's with me at the time so couldn't give it a go.
Anyone ?

Velvet and Common Scoter up our way. Eider and the odd Long-tailed duck. Plenty of Knot, Redshank, Golden Plover, Oystercatcher, Purple Sandpiper, Turnstone, Sanderling etc.

Oh right, have to say my one and only proper go at seawatching was from the very same place last weekend, & personally I was over the moon with a couple of Redthroated divers, a scoter & what I reckon might have been a Gillemot.
It is quiet & a good place to get away from it all, maybe that's all it was.

That's presumably why you didn't approach them,Carlos!
Seriously though, whenever I've seen sea-watchers,I've always said hello and asked them the 'score' and have always found them a willing and knowledgeable source of information.

Actual 'sea-watchers' I have come across at the 'Headland' at Hartlepool. They're always pretty accomodating to us novices and willing to share in what they have seen and how to identify the birds.
I'm afraid it's not something for me though as I often have trouble in identifying the bird when it's right in front of me let alone a distant fast moving speck over the water.

Oh yes I'm sure they are ... just thought I'd leave them to their space really ... no major deal either way but maybe given another day & my scope with me then I'd go and ask.
