2 weeks on a canal

I am considering a 2 week canal trip. see map http://www.hotelnarrowboat.com/Cruise%20Map.htm
Are any of these canals through any better birding areas than any other ?
Are there any real hot spots along any of these canals?

I can't answer your question but I am interested in the thread as it is something we have spoken about doing-I await the responses.
I looked into it last year and was most drawn to the stretch near Llangollen and Shropshire areas.
Interesting to read on their web site that you don't see Kingfishers May-mid June as they are busy building nests?
