Hi everyone, I just got my first setup, its a 40d with 100-400is. Something I would like to ask is when the lens is on the camera there is a bit of looseness between the two, with the lens on a tripod there is movement in the camera body. Is this normal, is it something I should be worried about, all brand new today so would like you thoughts.
Thanks,
Greg.

I would say this is normal, I have had the same setup with the 40D 100 400, now with 50D 100 400, still the same, WORKS GREAT.

I would also say this is the norm.I have this with both the 30D and 40D with my 400mm f5.6 prime, the 350D never showed any movement.

Agreed. I notice movement between my 40D & 400mm f/5.6.
But not between my 200mm f/4 or any of my TCs as I recall.

Ditto. It doesn't cause a problem for me either.
