Dear All

It all started about 3 years ago with what we call here (UK) a 'Blackthorn Winter'.

The Blackthorn blossom was out very early and was conspicuously abundant in all the hedgerows - and fabulous sight...!

Ever since then I have kept a close eye on wild blossom arriving (and leaving) in the hedgerows (currently Cherry Plum) and wondered if anybody else has a similar fascination...?

Blossom to look forward to include Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Rowan and Crab Apple

Cheers Tom

Hi Tom,

Here in Guernsey we have had Blackthorn blossoming on the cliffs for over a week now. I love it, and I also keep a list of the countryside in bloom, not only trees but flowers too. Many fields here are now golden with Daffodils, also atop the hedges.Celandines are appearing, and next will be Primroses and Violets. I love comparing my list to the previous years'. It seems that blossom is early this year although with a bitter north east wind things may slow down.
I LOVE this time of year with everything to look forward to!
