Hey ! Quite interesting Derry. However, I think that anybody interested in quality digital photography should invest in a hardware calibrator. There are much less expensive than they were.

Of course, if one's photography is only snapshots and bird photos for ID purposes, this software calibration will do the job quite nicely.

agree totally Jules,, have seen various ones around but unless you head to the upper $$$ range they don't help much over what some good time on the screen with visual tools can do,,

since I no longer print much of my work I was not interested in buying anything for the new HD monitor and after my own method of calibration I can hold a print next to the screen and it is a very close match,, the old MAC WYSIWYG,,|:D|

this is one of the better offerings I have found for self user set ups,,
