I still get the A640 out on occasion and enjoy the results that it can give. I also like it's ability to take continuous frames until the card is full without stopping. Very good for grooming sequences or where you pre-focus for a bird to step into the frame.
Here are a couple of images I took last week.

Neil,
Did you process the pictures ? Any sharpen,Noise reduction ,or only resized?
And do you have to zoom in to get rid of the vignette?
Thank you,
Regards,
Mohbhorn.

Mohbhorn,
I do process with Noiseware on most photos and use CS2. I have a shortened adapter for the A640 ( special make ) so I have to zoom the lens about 20% before attaching to the eyepiece adapter. Without the adapter, using my balance bar to support the camera on my Manfrotto sliding plate you can almost eliminate vignetting throughout the zoom range on a 20 mm eye relief fixed eyepiece , like the Swaro 30x . See attached photo taken at wide zoom you can just see a little vignetting in the corners but it soon goes with one zoom click.

Now that I have the new Swarovski 25-50x eyepiece ( thanks to Swarovski ) I dragged out the A640 to give it a workout using the Swarovski UCA adapter ( universal type ) . Although the zoom only has 17 mm of ER it seems to be constant throughout the zoom range and the UCA enables the camera lens to get very close.

Man, that white throated kingfisher is SUPERB! Wish I could find such photogenic species close to Tokyo.
