Nikon coolpix 995 noise

I just received my used 995 purchased on EBAY and every thing is working fine except it seams to make a lot of clicking noise. Is this common or should I be concerned? I am just getting started. I have been using my wife's little digital taped to a pair of binoculars that I cut in half with some success. Thanks for any help.

It's probably just noise from the autofocus mechanism. I've always heard similar noises from mine. Put it on manual mode and depress the shutter halfway and see if you hear those noises as it tries to lock focus on an object.

still have my old 990 (stored in the original box) and sure don't recall it ever being what I would call noisy and was no clicking sounds,,??
