Can anyone recommend a site where I can see dippers in Devon, which can be combined with a day trip to look for cirl bunting around Broadsands/Paignton please?

Try asking in the 'your local patch' thread under 'Devon' I am sure there would be someone on there to help you

A long time since I was in the area but you'll need to go a bit inland. The River Dart between Totnes and Buckfastleigh should be productive; failing that then go upstream above Buckfastleigh.

Hi scarycanary
You'd do worse than visit Dartmeet or New Bridge (preferably on a quiet day), both of these being a fairly short drive from Ashburton, New Bridge being closest to the A38, plus it's a good place for Mandarin. Could be combined with Torbay without much difficulty.
Re the Cirl Buntings, at the moment seed is being provided at the back of the second car park by the huts, so should be easy. Park on the road and walk across.

Got fantastic views of the cirls on Saturday and stumbled across a dipper in the middle of dartmoor, near Bovey Tracey. Thanks for all your advice.

Plymbridge is a great site for dippers. They can be seen very frequently at Cann Quarry.

When I was at Lynmouth on the north coast the other year there was quite a bit of dipper activity at the lower end of the river nearest the village. I could actually watch the dippers from the balcony of our apartment there - very cool! Pretty good for bats, herons and wagtails too.
