Another trip out this morning… again fairly late as I’m still recovering from the GP!
Also another short one, driven largely by the weather conditions, cold and drizzly, but in no small measure by the promise of a couple of Sausage Sandwiches on my return!
Overall, today seemed disappointing, although ultimately I ended up with one more on the list than yesterday. In truth though, sightings were rather difficult to come by, and there are a significant number of “heard-onlys” on this list.
No woodpeckers at all today, not even a distant yaffle, so pretty glum, although a small flock (a flockette?) of 5 Mistle Thrushes was nice, and towards the end a flock of around 100 Linnets disturbing the Skylarks (hence 5 at one time) and feeding in the same region as about 10 Chaffinches and 1 (yesterday’s?) Brambling.
Oh, and an unexpected Jay.
The Linnets take the Outback year list to 51 and Outback life list to 68.
