Hi to you all!

I´m due to Extremadura in about a month, for one week of great birdning and bird photography. I have been there before and my intinerary is to fly to Madrid and travel by car as follows; Madrid-Monfragüe-Trujillo area-La Serena area-Madrid.

My main interest for this trip is serious bird photography, and have alredy pinned down the main attractions, and my question is if anyone has some "out-of-the-box" tips about good places to visit?

And also, wich is the best place to get good pictures of Lesser Kestrel? I have heard/read much about the parador in Oropesa and have myself seen the species in Trujillo. Maybe there is some other place that I don´t know about?

Cheers

Hi Daniel.

I wish you the best for your Extremadura experience. If you are not lucky in this wonderful travel perhaps you can try, in a next future, in La Mancha. I'll be working next April with some professional photographers, and they want to take pictures very close to some iberian specialities like Lesser Kestrel. I'm talking about 15-20 metres. Very close, but easy in many old churches here in La Mancha.

Regards.

Vicente.

I was going to recommend he get in touch with you Stephen but I see you beat me to it.

Daniel, I'm sure Stephen will be an invaluable resource!

By the way, Stephen, are your friends still going to the Ebro, etc. (you have my email address rather than taking up daniel's thread!).

All the best
