d40-focusing problem

Hi all,
My camera seems to stuck on the left bracket when I focus on something from the middle bracket, in fact it focuses from that bracket all the time.What is the problem?

have you just selected the left bracket? If it lights up red when you depress the shutter then its selected, use the thumbwheel to select the middle focus zone.
