The majority of Dipper records in Cornwall come from the Camel and Fowey Rivers and their tributaries.

Hi,

I've seen them in the little stream that runs into the sea at Newlyn, up by the crab factory (Harveys?). This stream exits Drift Reservoir at the dam and they have been seen there too.

The earlier the better at Newlyn, that road gets busier as the day goes on. And start at the sea end, you can look down to the mouth of the stream from the hump-back bridge. I've also seen Water Rail just upstream of Harvey's where the stream widens. Don't forget the Iceland Gull in the harbour. Good Luck.

Truro River, between Hendra and River Street, Truro, adjacent to the Leats. One pair can be found early in the morning. The male has been singing this spring.

Dippers have been showing well, early morning, at Respryn and along the river towards the railway station. With a few young noted.

Thanks everyone!!!
Im off to wales next week for my school work experience so wont be going 'dippering' for about 2 weeks. Hoping the recently fledged dippers are still at Lake Vyrnwy as that is where im going.

Not quite in Cornwall but if you can get to Plymouth try Plymbridge Woods and go up the path/cycle track to the disused Cann Quarry where Dippers are regularly seen.

It is signposted from Marsh Mills just off the A38.
