Cheshire Birder
Saturday 30th May 2009, 23:27
Two Common Cranes have been wandering around the Midlands for a few weeks now and apparently flew over Newchurch Common this morning and then over Shropshire some two hours later.
Previous sightings possibly relating to the same pair of wandering birds are:-
Leics 19th May
Worcs/Derbys/Notts 14th May
Staffs 9th May
Worcs 4th May
Northants 28th Apr
Staffs 27th Apr
Shrops/Derbys 24th Apr
Worcs 19th Apr
W.Mids 18th Apr
Shrops 17th Apr
Staffs 14th Apr
There have been some long gaps between sightings suggesting the birds have found somewhere unknown or perhaps they returned to Norfolk, the most likely source of the birds. It would be nice if the birds decided to linger in one place tho :t:
