As the blog entry points out
http://www.eagleopticsblog.com/2009/06/15/one-more-nikon-superior-e/
they have a single Nikon Preimer Superior E 10x42 left ... $899!

Clearly these are disappearing despite the renaming!

What was the original price on these?
I recently had the opportunity to try one, again, and was very impressed with the optical quality even considering I do not prefer the 10x42 configuration. I can see where Stephen Ingraham always placed these so highly on his list.

And Kimmo ... the Alula reviews always use(d) the SE as the reference.
I think they were almost as much as they are asking (which is rather too much, IMHO!).
Still they're cheaper than the EDG ;)

They usually sold for around $1099.00. The price would drop to $999.00 once in a while. $899.00 is a good price.

Adorama has them for $700 with free shipping. Best price I've seen for new.

They also have the 12x50 for the same price and the 8x32 for $500.
