Can anyone advise me on a purchase.
I am looking at buying 3 items of photography equipment.

1. Canon 50D body only £736.99
2. Sigma 150mm macro £442.21
3. Sigma 50-500mm zoom £790.35

The cheapest I have found all 3 items in 1 place is Onestop Digital based in Hong Kong, total price is: £1969.55

Firstly, has anyone used these people for equipment?
Am I best getting the equipment from different retailers: IE: some places do the camera cheaper, others do the lenses cheaper and so on. I would really like to keep the purchases in the UK but this can mean a whopping £4-500 more than Onestop Digital for the 3 items mentioned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Neil.

Do't know if you have done a search yourself on here but I put onestop in search and here are the results

You could always try.......kerso1123@msn.com, I don`t know if he`ll be able to match the price of onestop but he will beat any UK shop hands down. I can vouch for him as can many others, he sometimes takes a while to repond to emails but bear in mind he may have a few people to deal with. But he will look after you and send an international warrenty with any gear he sends (gear comes from the states).

Just remember that if importing from HK you are liable for the import duty - something like 30% of the value incl the VAT. It doesn't matter whether you get asked for the duty or not, you are still liable, and until you pay it, you are breaking the law. IIRC one stop sometimes guarantee no duty. If that is the case, the correct thing to do when it arrives is declare it, pay the duty, and reclaim it from one stop.

If you buy from kerso he is distributing from within the UK. It is his responsibility to pay import duty. While I know he gives lens warranties, there has been some discussion before about whether he provides camera warranties too - I never heard a definitive answer on that.

Wrong, that is with onestop digital they guarantee if you have to pay vat or import duty they will reimburse you, and they will match any price check there website out.

Its beyond me why you would want to pay your duty, MP's, Bankers, Solicitors all seem to get there wack, and we in the UK pay the highest taxes duty of the whole world.
