Hi There,

I’m thinking on upgrading my trusty CP885 with the 5700. The 8X zoom + the TC-E15ED teleconverter gives a very attractive 420mm for under $700. Anybody using this camera?

Thanks!

I have had the cp5700 for a year now- i'm very pleased with it ( i don't have a teleconverter ).
Great shots with the camera ( i especially take Macro shots ) , a big variety of options using the menu .Very good high speed and multiple shots shooting . There are 2 problems i find with it: It is slow on recovery after every photo ( especially high resolution shots) , it is slow on opening and shutting ( and sometimes it is those 2 seconds that you need FASTER to get your shot ! )_
Second problem : Battery ! You have got to have a second one in hand 'cause the original one does not last long .
Otherwise - it is realy a great ( non slr ) camera .
I myself am thinking now on purchasing the D-70- so that i can start using different lenses .

Thanks for the info Doc,

I decided to go with the Sigma SD9 instead as I also want to experiment with lenses. Adorama has a terrific deal on these cameras (999 for the camera and 24-70 and 70-300 lenses). I actually bought a used one for 899 with a flash included.

I have seen some very impresive pictures taken with the Sigma and for the money the closest dslr was the Canon Rebel without lenses :(

Cheers
