Hi,
Found the above website, looks like they would be very useful for manual focusing ie Macro stuff and using M42/FD lenses on New digital slrs?
Cheers
Brian
ps has anyone on here fitted one?

I can't comment on the effectiveness or otherwise on these screens but my advice is: don't even contemplate trying to fit one yourself. The components are tiny, precision parts, some of which are springy, which weigh nothing and are easily damaged. The work must be carried out under scrupulously clean conditions and if things go wrong you are on your own.

Of course, if you can get a specialist camera repairer to fit one for you it might be a different matter.

I guess it depends on your camera. Changing the focussing screens on my 40D and 50D was simple. About 90 seconds for a complete swap.

I'm thinking of getting a manual focussing screen for my 40D, as I can't manual focus with the current screen. How would I get the 'top off' the camera to fit it?

You access the focussing screen from the front of the camera, through the mirror box. If you get a Canon one then they supply easy to follow instructions and a special tool.
