Here is a real deal on Astromart!
"Unused Orion AudioView 7X17 Binoculars with AM/FM radio. Includes batteries, lens cloth, strap and case. $25 Shipped."
Has anybody EVER heard of a 7x17X? Batteries are included! I wonder what the optical quality is like. They would not work well for birding because the radio would scare all the birds away. I think somebody should buy these and review them. Here is the link and the picture.

You use the radio to listen to your remote radio mikes so you can locate the birds by song ...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how they're supposed to be used. ;)

I was looking up Promaster binos this evening and found the website for a store at the local mall selling them. Their site has a pair of Promaster 16x32 Binoculars for the great price of $20.00!!!!!

I assume those binos are they kind you definitely do not give a child who wants to use binos because they will turn him off to binos for the rest of his life.

Wow! Roof-Prisms too! I wonder if their waterproof. 188 foot FOV. Kind of narrow. 16x no less! Can you imagine how hard they are to hold steady with that skimpy FOV. I still think mine are the best bargain because they have the BUILT-IN AM/FM radio and they INCLUDE the batteries.

Canon used to sell a folding 7x17, reportedly a decent optical package given its limitations.
It cost way more than $25 though and lacked the built in radio.
So Dennis' is still the price/performance leader in audio binoculars

Not so strange if you stop thinking nature and think sports ... sort of vision plus commentary.

I'm with Kevin. Watch the race or the football game so you can tune in to the event on the radio. That way the announcer can describe what you are seeing in the blurry image. Provided of course you can tune the radio to the proper station. ;)
How does one adjust IPD on those I wonder?
