Hello folks,
I am willing to try some BIF shots by the shore. However, here in the south of Brazil the wind is constant at the beach and in a few minutes everything you carry gets covered by what we call "maresia" (salt-water spray).
So, I would like to know how you protect your camera and lens when photographing at the shore.
BTW, I have a Canon 40D and a 400mm f/5.6 lens.
Thanks in advance,
Fabio.

I presume that by "maresias" you mean wind-borne salt-water spray. Sand is also a problem. If you want complete protection I think you would have to get underwater camera housing, quite expensive for DSLRs, see for example,

Thanks, Dalcio!
I've added the "salt-water spray" to my original post.
regarding the underwater camera housing, it is indeed very expensive!
Fabio.

Fabio, try Optech Rainsleeves. They are pretty cheap and effective at keeping the worst of the weather off.

Fabio, get a cheap pr of waterproof trousers, preferably some with elastic around the ankle , cut one leg off and after a few minor adjustments you have a nice waterproof/windproof cover for your lens and body. The one I made out of camouflage material I sewed a cord into the open end (body end) so when its bad I can close of the opening. The elasticated ankle should allow a very nice fit around the hood.
Mine cost about $17 US and and a little time

Or "spindrift" for a one-word equivalent.
