I probably shouldn't put this in the Canon forum, but this is where I usually come, and from the stats it looks like most people...
What are the best, or your favorite, photography magazines. I was in a Barnes & Nobles bookstore in San Francisco and was surprised to see there were about double the number of UK photography magazines as those from the USA. The main consumer magazines in the US (Popular Photography, American Photo, Photo Graphic) are pretty much catalogs of new gear. They "teach" the same thing in every other issue. That's probably the case with the UK 'zines as well.
But I'm curious which magazines you all read (UK and USA) and which you think are rubbish.
FWIW, I ended up getting "Britain's best-selling mag for photographers" Digital Photo because it was supposed to have a big section on getting perfect exposure with RAW. I was a bit let down.
What's best?

My must buy is Outdoor Photography - in our hobby, guaranteed to feature subjects close to our hearts!
But recently, have been looking a lifestyle/interior design mags, because I'm looking at improving sales, and at moment my abstracts are selling, so I've got to concentrate on them...

I also vote for "Outdoor Photography"; an excellent magazine. The weekly "Amateur Photographer" is also a very good source of information with in depth articles.
I used to spend lots of cash each month buying hobbyist photography magazines and found most did not live up to the advertising; the features and reviews seeming simple and basic. I have now settled on the above two only and resist temptation to buy any others no matter how inviting the glossy cover article looks.

I used to subscribe to outdoor photography but had to write to the editor and cancel my subscription a year or so ago, the reason they published an article which actively promoting Bull Fighting and the photographic opportunities that it allowed a visitor, since then I won't even pick one up.
I did get a nice response suggesting that the article wasn't in hindsight the most suitable for the magazine......

If you are a Canon EOS user I would have thought that you should be reading EOS magazine. Not too many adverts and certainly only full of EOS information, EOS photographs, EOStechniques, etc.

Totally go along with that,Christine
Up until recently I also took Digital Photo but it was seemingly more advert content than tutorials.Don't see why I should pay for adverts!
Also, far too many Photoshop tutorials rather than camera usage.

I have read about every camera mag on the self at one time or another and have now come to the conclusion that they all do the same at one time or another ,and all rehash things every year so i now pic the mag i think is going to give me what im interested in.That said i usually get amateur photographer now as the others just seem to be more of the same. Also some mags prefer Nikon and other prefer Canon and i think camera mags should be neutral maybe i'm just odd though.

Agree with the previous postings - Photo Plus and EOS Magazine.
EOS Magazine has, in the past, been very expensive for thos outside the EU. But, in the last isuue, I read that you can now get an electronic subscrition that's a lot cheaper. They've introduced it especially for their 'Merkin readers.
