The Atlantic Diver of Newquay will be running a dedicated seabird Pelagic out of Newquay Harbour, Cornwall this Thursday 6th August. We will be sailing at 8am and returning to Newquay at 4pm. Total cost of charter is £500. Twelve maximum = £42 each. Suitable chum is provided and the captain will do the chumming. Chris Lowe, the charter skipper, is well used to chumming as he does regular shark fishing and basking shark diving trips using the same boat.
The boat itself is the most powerful type in Newquay and has a max speed of 30 knots. Thus we will be looking to chum at around 20 miles off the north coast of Cornwall. More info can be found on www.atlanticdiver.com
Sea conditions and forecast are relatively calm at just 7mph wind and visibilty is also good. Check www.windfinder.com
Given that we saw two Wilson's Petrels last Saturday off St Ives and a further five were seen from a similar venture off Padstow on Sunday, our chances of seeing Wilson's and other seabirds are fairly good off this coast. Photos of the Wilson's can be seen on www.swopticsphoto.com
Payment is made in cash or cheque to the skipper on the day. (Cheques made payable to Atlantic Diving). However, as I am co-ordinating the numbers, and don't want to be stung for £500, you will need to call me at the shop with your credit/debit card numbers as a security deposit only. You will only be charged on your credit card if you don't turn up on the day.
I have eight places remaining as at 12' o'clock today. It is a first come first served basis. This text is also shown on swopticsphoto.com . Be quick.
There are toilets on board and the price includes tea/coffee.
