A friend gave me these binoculars to try and sell, but I can't find any information on them. They once belonged to her father and he passed away over 25 years ago. Has anyone ever heard of them, or are they just one of the millions made through the years?

They are approximately 7 1/4 inches from end of plastic/bakelite eyecups to the objective lenses. They are made in Japan and that is the extent of my knowledge. I have posted some pics below. Thanks.

Japan produces a prolific amount of binoculars post war. Most of them were good quality as they had strict Q. and A. at the time. These are typical 60's-70's 7x50 7.1 degree binoculars - reasonable optics and build qualities but with the earlier coated only lens, Bk-7 prisms and limited eye relief. The are usable if they do not have major internal deterioration via blooming or mildew on the prisms as they are not W.P.
They tend to hold collimation well. They are not 'valuable' as such but are more collectors pieces as they hold sentimental value esp. as it was your fathers.
Below is the Japanese code site - you may be able to track the generic factory that made it from the JB codes on the front axle.
